Parameter Optimization for a Novel Inerter-based Dynamic Vibration Absorber with Negative Stiffness

Abstract A novel dynamic vibration absorber(DVA) model with negative stiffness and inerter-mass is presented analytically studied in this paper. The research shows there are still two fixed points independent of the absorber damping amplitude frequency curve primary system when contains inerter-mass. optimum ratio obtained based on fixed-point theory. In order to ensure stability system, it found that inappropriate inerter coefficient will cause instable screening optimal ratio. Accordingly, best working range determined approximate also obtained. At last control performance DVA compared three existing typical DVAs. comparison results harmonic random excitation show could not only reduce peak value amplitude-frequency significantly, but broaden efficient mitigation.
